Home For a Rest

As we touched down into Calgary yesterday afternoon after 46 hours in transit, my heart warmed as I gazed at the Rocky mountains and the city's skyline. As we taxied down the runway, I squeeled with joy when I spotted a gopher skittering around in the grass. That sealed it...for the first time in the seven years I've lived here, Calgary felt like home.

Last night I considered downloading some photos from our new camera so that I could post them on here. But as I toyed with the idea, I was incapacitated by the fear that I would somehow delete all 600 of the photos that Kyle took on our trip. If that happened, Kyle would sneakily sew a kilogram of cocaine into the lining of my jacket, send me on an errand to his mom's elementary school and then call the cops on me. That way, I would never be able to leave the country again.

I'm glad you are home safely.
Two questions: where would Kyle get a kilo of cocaine, and when did he learn to sew?

I'm surprised you could think about anything after 46 hours of travel-let alone what goes on in the bastardly mind of Kyle!

aw celia stole my thunder. i was also wondering where the cocaine would come from ... i guess we shouldn't over analyze an analogy after 46 hours travel. Good job!

After grad we're going to Disney World! We wanted to take a few weeks off and Jenn has some friends in Fort Myers that we can stay with. They were her 'missionary parents' while she was in Kenya. I'm so looking forward to it! Especially after a snowy day like today!

I love that you saw a gopher on your way into calgary! I haven't actually seen one yet. Once when I was stopped at a light in calgary I could hear them peeping, but I haven't actually seen one yet. Man I love those little guys. Guess what Mark's doing this weekend? Gopher Hunting- no joke. If I hear one more sob stories about cows breaking legs in gopher holes I"m going to throw up.
